Mary Miller
Mary has over twenty years experience in the energy industry having started her career in the UK oil and gas industry. She has been working in the field of sustainable and renewable energy since joining ETSU in 1989. From 1998 to 2004 she worked for ILEX Energy Consulting developing the renewables and carbon trading business. She has extensive experience in the regulatory, policy and commercial aspects of the power generation industry and an in-depth understanding of how the exploitation of renewable energy technologies interfaces with the mainstream markets.
Most recently she was a Director of TV Energy where she was responsible for developing in-house commercial expertise and for establishing the consulting section of the business. She is a qualified Ecohomes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and is licensed to undertake SAP assessments. Over the years her experience has included:
- Project management, working for different clients (various local authorities, housing developers, Utilities, banks and UK government departments).
- Business development
- Energy market strategies - for generators and users
- Negotiation
- Presentation and training
- Experience in assessing options for the introduction of small scale and micro on-site generation equipment
- Knowledge and work experience in the climate change field.
Outside work Mary is busy with a family of three teenage boys which means a lot of standing on the touch line in the cold to support their rugby teams. She also has two dogs that join her running around the South Oxfordshire countryside supposedly in training for marathons (completed two) but, in truth, is really an excuse to escape!
